The Power Over LAN Midspan products uses the unused pairs in a standard Cat 5 network cable to supply power to Power Over LAN enabled products up to 100 meters away. One important feature is auto detection of Power over LAN enabled products, this means that power will only be delivered to products designed to accept power over the network and not to standard desktop computer, laptops etc. The Power Over LAN products are available in 1, 6, and 12 port configurations.
