Nearly 30 years ago, Casio introduced the SK-1, an 8-bit sampler, which broke new ground in terms of portability and cool sounds, but it also offered the ability to synthesize sounds starting from a neutral waveform, envelopes, vibrato, portamento, rhythms and sampling. Today, the CTK-2090 digital keyboard builds on that pioneering innovation to enable users to layer up to five different sounds to create their own tracks using the Sound eFX sampler. The keyboard offers two sampling modes: short and full. Short Sampling Mode allows users to create up to five sounds 0.4 seconds in length, whereas Full Sampling Mode allows users to create one two-second sound. With a built-in microphone, users can also sample their voice and other ambient sounds to create a variety of sampled tones and effects for later use. Casio�s electronic musical instruments offer a comprehensive feature set geared to enrich the learning experience. The CTK-2090 is outfitted with Casio�s Step-up Lesson System, which enables beginners to learn 152 built-in songs, phase-by-phase, at their own individual pace. With the LCD display, students can learn both music notation and correct hand positioning, while Casio�s innovative lesson system evaluates performance so users can track their progress.
