The LB-2 VPN is a firewall and router with 2 WAN ports that combines high bandwidth sharing solutions, network security, load balance and redundancy. It's perfect for small and medium businesses. It also provides network management features that are essential for an efficient and safe security policy. All at a price you can easily afford.

Establish secure connections between remote locations
The LB-2 VPN allows you to establish up to 10 simultaneous VPN (Virtual Private Network) tunnels with various encryption methods (DES, 3DES, AES), using your current broadband internet connection. It securely connects offices and suppliers and even your office and home. To establish a VPN connection you also need a VPN device on the remote end, or you can use the HotBrick Windows VPN Client. With this feature you can access remote servers and services, such as email and applications, with total security. VPN failover is also supported for compatible HotBrick products when 2 WAN connections are available at both ends of the tunnel.

Integrated firewall and network solution in one device.
The LB-2 VPN features packet inspection, IPSec VPN, NAT, intruder detection, URL filter, control and blocking access features and distinct user policies (5 different user groups). The LB-2 VPN supports most of the popular high bandwidth connections including cable, DSL, static and dynamic IP and PPPoE. It's a 4-port switch and DHCP server/client that allows for safe internet connection sharing.

Economy, speed and stability
The LB-2 VPN has 2 redundant WAN ports that offer a powerful load balance function. It allows you to trade a high cost internet connection for two high bandwidth connections (more economic). The LB-2 VPN can take advantage of both connections with load balancing. It offers connection failover as well; this insures that when one connection fails, the LB-2 VPN will use the other connection automatically. It's an ideal product for those who need QoS (Quality of Service) due to its ability to establish priority traffic for critical applications.

The LB-2 VPN lets you create up to 10 VPN tunnels. A VPN tunnel is an encryption mechanism that creates a safe connection from your LAN through the internet. You can safely connect your enterprise to your subsidiaries, shops, partners or home.

Load Balance, redundancy and QoS
The LB-2 VPN uses 2 high performance WAN ports. These WAN ports allow:
• Redundancy and automatic failover for both high bandwidth connections
• QoS (Quality of Service), the capability of setting how internet sharing is split between both WANs.
• Load Balancing for outbound Internet Traffic

4 port switch for internet sharing
The LB-2 is a 4 LAN 10/100 port switch that allows you to share your cable/DSL connection with up to 253 users on your LAN (using additional switches and/or hubs).

SPI firewall protects against DoS attacks
The LB2-VPN protects your business or home network by providing a high performance firewall with SPI packet inspection that detects and blocks DoS (Denial of Service) and other malicious attacks.

NAT Firewall ensures your privacy
The NAT (Network Address Translation) feature performs the translation of network addresses and ports. This ensures the privacy of your internal network IPs while requiring only one internet IP for your entire network.

URL filter blocks undesirable sites
The LB-2 VPN allows you to block and control acess to undesirable sites. This stops users from using the internet improperly at work.

DMZ allows bidirectional communication
The DMZ (demilitarized zone) feature supports applications that require bidirectional data transmission over the internet. It also allows a server/PC on the LAN to act as an independent node that communicates with the internet in both directions, as web servers. Without the DMZ, bidirectional communication with the internet is not allowed by the firewall.

Virtual Server allows access to LAN services
The Virtual Server feature, with port forwarding, allows sharing LAN services, such as email and FTP. With this feature, external users can access specific services on your LAN.

Supports multiple IP addresses
The LB-2 VPN supports multiple IP addresses for each WAN port. It can map internet IPs to a LAN computer.

Access control for 5 user groups
With the LB-2 VPN you can create up to 5 distinct user groups, with distinct internet access and policies. For example, you can create a group with full access, one that can access only the internet and email, and another that doesn’t have any kind of internet connection.

Dynamic DNS (DDNS)
If you have a dynamic IP address that changes at each connection or some other interval, the DDNS feature prevents you from having to change the IP address manually on your equipment. This way remote access, VPNs and other services that depend on IP addresses are not interrupted.

DHCP Server
The LB-2 VPN can act as a DHCP server for your network, managing up to 253 IPs.

VPN Pass Through support
The LB-2 VPN allows passing VPN connections (PPTP, L2TP, IPSec) through the equipment so that it does not interfere with VPN tunnels established between internal and external users/servers.

Special Applications support
The LB2 VPN supports internet communication applications such as games, VoIP and conferences, that are usually hard to use behind a firewall. The support for special applications allows the use of some non-standard applications, where each port used to reply is different from the port issuing a request.
