Multisystem VCRs allow you to play tapes of different formats, such as NTSC and PAL, and output them in the same format. Thus, in order to see a PAL video tape on an NTSC television or an NTSC tape on a PAL television, you must either have a multisystem TV, a Tenlab video converer, or a similar converter that will convert the video signals from the multisystem VCR to the proper format used by the TV. In the US, televisions use the NTSC format. Therefore, your television is most likely NTSC if it was purchased in the US. Another option is to purchase a multistandard VCR with a built-in converter.
