Providing flexible options for home offices or just for those who'd like an easily accessible second phone, the AT&T 2256 supplies a main communications hub with a digital three-box answering system along with a second handset and charging base. Both handsets offer access to caller ID/call waiting information (with subscription to service through your local company). Caller ID stores the names and numbers of your 50 most recent 50 calls and allows you to return those calls at the touch of a button. A 50-station phone book provides more permanent access to your most frequently-dialed numbers; you can also add any of the numbers from caller ID to the permanent phone book easily. Selectable ring tones and adjustable volume for both ringer and handset are built in, and you can intercom between the two handsets at the touch of a single button. Thanks to digital spread spectrum technology and a 2.4 GHz frequency, you'll enjoy consistent, clear connections on either handset. The main base unit includes a fully digital answering system with three separate mailboxes. Divided or not, total recording time is 15 minutes; you have full access to any messages even when you're in another city. Leave memos for other family members or office mates easily. And thanks to the time/date stamp, you'll be able to prioritize calls after a long weekend away.
