AXIS Camera Station or DVRs?
AXIS Camera Station in combination with Axis network video products
offers many benefits compared with analog surveillance systems based on
Digital Video Recorders.A
perfect solution for small- to mid-sized systems
AXIS Camera Station is a complete monitoring and recording system for up
to 50 cameras. Installed on a standard PC, it is ideal for retail shops,
hotels and schools. It offers easy installation and setup with automatic
camera discovery, a powerful Configuration Wizard and efficient
management of the Axis network video products in the system. The
software has extensive language support.
A reliable solution installed at 35,000 sites worldwide
To eliminate compatibility problems and secure system uptime, AXIS
Camera Station is designed to perfectly match Axis’ wide range of
network products and product features. Support for H.264 video
compression and camera-based alarm triggers such as motion detection,
Cross Line Detection enable optimization of bandwidth and storage
efficiency. Support for fail-over recording and tampering alarm in
cameras with SD/SDHC card further secure system operation.
Superior image quality
AXIS Camera Station makes it possible to view, record and export
high-quality video in H.264, MPEG-4 and Motion JPEG compression formats.
Support for progressive scan, megapixel and HDTV resolution further
improves identification and ensures a level of image quality that
surpasses that from a DVR solution with analog cameras.
Remote viewing of one or several sites
The Windows client of AXIS Camera Station can be installed on any PC,
enabling remote viewing and control of one or several video surveillance
sites from anywhere. All you need is an Internet connection.
System scalability
AXIS Camera Station is installed on a standard PC, which reduces
response times and simplifies upgrades/replacements (as opposed to when
using proprietary equipment such as DVRs). Cameras and licenses can be
easily added one by one. The system hardware can be expanded to meet
increased performance requirements.
Image quality
With progressive scan, and HDTV and megapixel resolutions, network
camera technology has surpassed the image quality provided by analog
cameras with DVRs.
Cost effectiveness
Most facilities are already wired with network cables, thus an
IP-Surveillance solution requires no additional wiring for video, audio
and remote PTZ control. Most Axis network network video products support
Power over Ethernet (PoE), which allows you to power the devices through
the network and eliminate the wiring needed for electrical outlets.
Using standard PC and server hardware for video recording and storage
rather than proprietary equipment such as DVRs, radically reduces
management and equipment costs.
Camera intelligence
Advanced network cameras and video encoders with built-in intelligence
or analytics, such as video motion detection, audio detection alarmand
active tampering alarm reduce the amount of uninteresting recordings.
Multi-view streaming and fail-over recording in cameras are examples of
new possibilities for system optimization and improved reliability that
are not available in an analog solution.
System integration
Network video products based on open standards can be easily integrated
with computer and Ethernet-based information systems, audio or security
systems and other digital devices. For instance, video from a network
camera can be integrated into a Point of Sales system or a building
management system. AXIS Camera Station comes with an open interface for
easy integration with third-party applications. |
