The Garmin GSD 22 Digital Black Box Sounder is a dual-frequency, 1 kW/500 W RMS (dependent on transducer), direct sampling, Garmin Marine Network-enabled black box sounder. The unit will also have serial connectivity for Garmin non-network chartplotters. The exciting additions are a new direct sampling analogue to digital sonar receiver that will provide exceptional target separation because of dynamic filter adjustments, better rejection of other fishfinder cross talk, an increased transmit ping rate, and a new transmitter capable of 1 kW. The Garmin GSD 22 Digital Black Box Sounder also utilises the new 'Transducer ID' feature from Airmar on 1 kW or greater transducers. The data available from Transducer ID will allow the receiver to automatically adjust the sounder performance to the varied characteristics of the different models of phased array 1 kW transducers.
