Overview

This three step course will take you through the steps required to properly install a hearing loop system. The course will introduce loop systems principles and give greater understanding in the specification and design considerations for basic, advanced, and phased-array hearing loop systems. All attendees will gain both theory and hands-on experience of installing, setting up, testing, and certifying a hearing loop system. You will learn how to effectively set up and measure the system to meet IEC60118-4 performance standards, as well as certifying the system to those standards.

Participants will gain a working knowledge of the different types of test equipment and methods of proper use, as well as the requirements of the International performance standard, IEC60118-4. From good wiring practices, to product placement, participants will learn to troubleshoot the real-world challenges you may encounter and how to minimize their impact on the system’s performance and utility.

For effective specification and installation of all types of loop systems, a thorough site survey is critical. Methods for performing such surveys will be covered.

At the completion of this session, participants will be certified as a hearing loop installer capable of meeting performance standard IEC60118-4. Four (4) InfoComm CTS Renewal Credits are available upon completion and passing the final exam.
