The Stingray, part number VDAC120E, is a unique high resolution 1-in 2-out VGA-UXGA distribution amplifier cable designed to allow the connection of a computer video output to two individual displays simultaneously, such as a local monitor and a distant projector. The Stingray is 12 inches long, offers long-lasting, durable molded connectors � a male 15-pin HD connector on the computer side with finger-adjustable lock down screws, and two female 15-pin HD connectors on the output side. This allows the direct connection of a monitor and VGA type cable with a standard male to male configuration to a distant display. The two outputs of the Stingray are both buffered, boosting the computer video signals over cable runs up to 250 feet in length. This is accomplished by special micro-circuitry built in to the molded connector of the cable. The Stingray is special in that it requires no external power adapter, making it a perfect low-weight, low- profile solution for the traveling presenter and for installations with tight space limitations. The Stingray must be used with computer video outputs that comply with VESA standard DDC-2AB (released August 1998) or later , which requires +5 Volts of power on pin 9 of the 15-pin HD connector with at least 100 mA of current capacity. However, if the computer video outputs does not comply with VESA, there is a DC power plug on the cable. Note that some manufacturers and low-power notebook computers do not comply with this detail of the VESA standard, so it is important to check with the manufacturer or test the computer with the Stingray. There is a dual function LED indicates circuitry is receiving power by red light and green light for signal presence. Lastly, there is a 16-position equalization controls in for the Red, Green, and Blue video components for gain and equalization adjustment for long cable runs.
