This is it. The flagship of Sony's home
theater lineup. This projector combines the advanced features and
technology associated with the legendary QUALIA 004 and the sleek form
factor made popular by the VPL-VW100 projector. Three newly developed
high frame rate (120fps) SXRD® 1080P chips work together with Sony's
Motionflow technology and black frame insertion modes for smoother, more
detailed pictures in fast motion video. The Panel Alignment function
allows the precise alignment of R/G/B images with zone specific
adjustment to deliver a sharper, crisper picture. An exclusive Carl
Zeiss® multi-element glass lens optimizes SXRD chip performance. The
Anamorphic Zoom Mode works with an optional external anamorphic lens to
allow 2.35:1 aspect ratio viewing. A high output Xenon cinematic lamp
maintains ideal color temperature characteristics for natural and
accurate color reproduction. Additional color features include RCP (Real
Color Processing) and x.v.Color™ technology for further color refinement.
The significantly improved native contrast characteristics of the three
SXRD chips are dynamically enhanced by the Advanced Auto Iris 2 function
for up to a 35,000:1 contrast ratio. Add 24p True Cinema connectivity,
RS-232C capability and two HDMI™ inputs and the VPL-VW200 is destined to
be the ultimate choice among videophiles everywhere.
SXRD® chips
3 high frame rate SXRD® 1920 x 1080p chips support Full HD 1080p
resolution for a smooth, film-like image.
Motionflow™ 120Hz with Dark Frame Insertion technology
Motionflow™ 120Hz with Dark Frame Insertion technology doubles the frame
rate in video sources to reduce judder and deliver a smoother more
natural viewing experience.
BRAVIA® Engine™ PRO
BRAVIA® Engine™ PRO fully digital video processing system reduces image
noise and enhances color, providing a sharp, crystal clear image from
both high definition and standard definition video signals.
Advanced Iris 2
Advanced Iris 2 Function provides up to 35,000:11 contrast ratio (with
Auto Iris ON) to produce deep black levels with stunning details.
24p True Cinema
24p True Cinema mode allows you to experience a cinema-like experience
at home when using a 24p capable output device, such as a Blu-ray Disc™
player.
Anamorphic Zoom
Anamorphic Zoom Mode works in conjunction with an optional anamorphic
lens to recreate a 2.35:1 aspect ratio -- the same as in a movie theater.
1.8x zoom Carl Zeiss® Vario-Tessar® lens
1.8x zoom Carl Zeiss® Vario-Tessar® lens provides a short focus distance

BRAVIA® Theatre Sync™
BRAVIA® Theatre Sync™ technology provides one-touch access and control
functionality of other HDMI™-connected components with BRAVIA® Theatre
Sync™ capability from the VPL-VW200’s remote.
Panel Alignment
Panel Alignment Function enables pixel alignment to within 1/10th of a
pixel2, making it possible to adjust the gaps in the color of characters
or the picture itself, for improved brightness, clarity, and detail.
x.v.Color™ technology
x.v.Color™ technology3 adopts the xvYCC international color standard to
display nearly twice as many (1.8x) viewable colors than the existing
RGB color standard.
Whisper-quiet operation
Efficient cooling system exhausts heats through front vents and an
exclusive Sony designed fan virtually eliminate disturbing noises,
resulting in whisper-quiet operation.
Blanking and Overscan function
Numerous image adjustment features help you obtain the optimum viewing
experience. Use the blanking function to eliminate unwanted visual
information around the edge of the image. The Overscan function allows
you to increase or decrease the size of the image to perfectly match
your display screen.
Adjustable Lens Shift
Adjustable Lens Shift provides vertical and horizontal adjustments that
allow the projector to be placed in different locations without
distorting image quality.
RS-232C connectivity
RS-232C connectivity enables you to operate the projector using an
optional home theater automation controller.
RCP (Real Color Processing)
RCP (Real Color Processing) Function allows you to adjust specific
colors on the picture without changing the overall image's color and hue.
Fine tune the color of a strawberry without impacting skin tones, adjust
the blue in a sky without affecting the color of water, or tweak the
green color of grass without influencing the other colors in the picture. |
