 The R300 continues Sony's long established tradition of low-cost DAT recorders, featuring 44.1kHz recording from the analogue inputs - an essential feature for master recorders which are used in the CD production chain. Sony?s switchable Super Bit Mapping improves the perceived dynamic range and minimises quantization noise. There is no SCMS, meaning that unlimited digital cloning is permitted, and a software based setup menu provides greater user flexibility and convenience.

PCM-R300 Sony's latest low-cost professional DAT recorder replacing the DTC-A6. Features include: Super Bit Mapping—a process utilizing high quality, wide bit stream A/D converters for superior sound, defeatable SCMS copy code, CDQ & Start ID sync recording, and more. Supplied Accessories: 19" rackmount adaptor, wireless remote.

  • Error rate display can be selected on the display The error counter display shows the error rate of the audio signal being played back for both the A and B playback heads. The four digits on the right and left show the error rate detected on the A head and B head respectively. This allows for more accurate troubleshooting of tape & machine heads.
  • Coaxial and optical digital interface. Flexible digital interface of both coaxial and optical digital I/O offer compatibility with both consumer + semi-pro gear.
  • A/D and D/A monitoring modes. Offers the flexability of setting levels without engaging heads and causing excessive head & tape wear This makes available the use of A/D front end (20Bit / SBM) to feed into other digital equipment.
  • Recording and playback in Long play mode Useful for archiving or recording long-length program, especially when "highest" fidelity is not required (speech, rehearsal tapes, logging, etc.).
